Pat Ruane, Architectural Conservation Officer, Cork City Council

Pat Ruane is an architect originally from Co. Mayo, graduating in architecture from UCD School of Architecture in 1984.

He worked both at home and further afield for a number of years before returning to Ireland to study for a masters degree in urban and building conservation. He subsequently worked on his own and with other conservation practices on projects throughout the country before becoming Conservation Officer with Cork City Council in 2000.

His focus is on the ordinary buildings of town and country, intimately assoiciated with the everyday life of a community.
