Tom Spalding, Historian and Writer

Tom Spalding is a Cork-based historian and writer and is a PhD candidate in the Dublin Institute of Technology. His previous research has addressed 20th century architecture in Cork, the history of Cork’s national and international exhibitions (with Daniel Breen) and the quotidian details of the cityscape (the fine urban grain of signage and street furniture). His PhD focuses on mid-twentieth century Cork’s houses and pubs. He has a wealth of experience in city tours and looks forward to meeting delegates on this tour.
