Workshop: Urban Democracy – Day Two @ 14:00

Biljana is an urban planner and architect whose career spans public and third sector advisory bodies, architectural, urban planning and construction management consultancies. She is a passionate advocate for creative, responsible and collaborative placemaking that benefits all. As a Director of The Prince’s Regeneration Trust she led a training and mentoring programme for community groups working to regenerate historic buildings and sites they love. In the past she led a programme of support to communities piloting neighbourhood planning for The Prince’s Foundation for Building Community and worked with a number of neighbourhood forums as an independent advisor.

She is a Non–Executive Director of the Academy of Urbanism; a Design Council Cabe’s Built Environment Expert (BEE) and member of The Glass House Community-Led Design’s enabling panel. As a Winston Churchill Fellow Biljana recently completed an extensive study of approaches to community engagement in urban planning and development in Australia, New Zealand and Cuba.
